Outdoor Portable easel

I prefer the Stanrite 300 Deluxe or Stanrite 400 Lecturers' easel (enhanced with spring clamps.) (Do not be lead into buying a Stanrite 100 or 200 by an art store employee. They're too short. You may have to special order the 300.) 10 prepared masonite boards or canvases. 5 -12" by 16" and 5- 16" by 20". I prefer masonite over cotton canvas for outdoor painting. Of course you may use linen also, but I don't recommend it for the color studies. Get quarter inch thick, untempered or standard masonite at the lumber company, cut to size, then prepare it with two coats of Liquitex Gesso. Some will be available for sale at $6 each.

Odorless Paint Thinner and a tin can container for it Assorted Brushes, Palette Knife, and paper towels (Bounty or Viva) Hat (for the Provincetown sun) Oil Colors (Artists' Grade) (I recommend Rembrandt or Windsor-Newton, or a combination of both with emphasis on Rembrandt.)
